This Week at La Salle

Dear Explorers and friends,

I hope your Fourth of July holiday was restful and joyful.

This summer at La Salle is anything but quiet. We are celebrating a record-breaking fundraising year in which we raised the most funds during a fiscal year in the last two decades—surpassing $17 million. This success is thanks, in part, to our community’s response to the $10 million Charter Challenge that we launched at my Inauguration in October. I am incredibly grateful to our community of alumni, faculty, staff, students, and their families and loved ones. In particular, I also express my gratitude to the Christian Brothers who jumpstarted the Charter Challenge with a gift of $3 million.

In June, we named Aswhin “Ash” Puri as our next Vice President of Athletics & Recreation and Director of Athletics. I look forward to formally welcoming Ash to the Explorer family when he joins us on campus later this month.

Over the last two weeks, we have mobilized multiple teams across campus to offer assistance to Cabrini University students upon the news of Cabrini’s closure. In the spirit of the two charisms of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we are doing everything that we can to welcome Cabrini students at La Salle and make their transition as seamless as possible.

While this summer has already been a busy one, we are looking forward to the weeks ahead as we prepare to welcome our students back in the fall. Let’s keep this momentum going as we get closer to a new academic year.

Sincerely,

Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D.
