Upcoming Holidays, Observations, and Commemorations

Throughout the year, we celebrate the wide array of individuals, groups, and cultures at La Salle by calling to mind various holidays, observances, and commemorative days that provide our campus with an opportunity to learn and to become involved as they desire. Learn more about the recognitions taking place across the globe and throughout the country during the month of October, including:

  • October was first declared as National Bullying Prevention Month in 2006. Since then, October has been a time to acknowledge that bullying has devastating effects on children and families such as school avoidance, loss of self-esteem, increased anxiety, and depression. Bullying can occur in multiple ways.

  • October 11-12: Although Yom Kippur is the most solemn day of the Jewish year, it is suffused with an undercurrent of joy; the joy of being immersed in the spirituality of the day and expressing confidence that G-d will accept repentance, forgiveness of sins, and seal the verdict for a year of life, health, and happiness.
