Dear Explorers and friends,
It's hard to believe that we are at the halfway point of the fall semester. I can already see the leaves changing colors throughout the campus as we pivot to cooler weather. But that is not slowing us down. There is palpable excitement and energy on campus as we begin to build on the pillars of our strategic plan, Ascend 2028.
One of those pillars is to provide a transformational experience for our students. I am proud to share that La Salle is in receipt of $2.2 million, five-year Title III grant from the U.S. Department of Education that will fund a comprehensive project of institutional enrichment for the student experience. This is a remarkable funding opportunity that will impact many areas of our campus.
Another pillar is to deliver an exceptional student experience. With a $500,000 grant from the Regina Charitable Fund of the Philadelphia Foundation, our standalone post BSN to DNP Nurse Anesthesia program, launching in January 2024, will be able to build out a state-of-the-art simulation lab for hands-on training. We are thankful for the Regina Charitable Fund in recognizing the great opportunity at La Salle to support our students' teaching and learning.
And a third pillar is to chart a sustainable financial future for La Salle. With new leadership in our University Advancement, as we welcome Vice President of University Advancement Frederick A. Pettit, J.D., we will build on the momentum of last year's historic fundraising to continue to provide the La Salle community with the resources it needs to fulfill our vision of being a leading Lasallian educational institution.
There is so much happening on campus, and I invite you to see it for yourself. Join me and the La Salle community at Homecoming and Family Weekend from Nov. 10 to Nov. 12. Learn more and register here.
I hope to see you there or at any of our future campus events.
Sincerely,
Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D.
President
