This Week at La Salle

Dear Explorers and friends,

Earlier this month we gathered together for the Commencement ceremonies celebrating the Class of 2023. It was an exciting day honoring our graduates and all they have accomplished during their time at La Salle.

As we know, commencement marks a beginning not an end. We’ve watched firsthand as our students built the foundations for their lives and careers at 20th and Olney. For example, some of our newest alumni are building organizations and nonprofits. Others are continuing their time with La Salle through graduate school and our five-year programs. And some are planning their next steps through additional education and work experience.

La Salle is proud to position our graduates for success beyond this campus. Our dedicated faculty and staff are a support system for our students, and we recognize their work daily and through special honors like the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award given at Commencement.

More stories showcasing the amazing things happening at our University can be found in the recent edition of La Salle Magazine including the newly launched ASPIRE Program. In partnership with the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Howley Foundation, La Salle is investing in the future of nursing by providing students with accessible pathways toward an undergraduate nursing degree.

I encourage you to read on about how our University lives out our commitment to teaching and learning and our Lasallian values.

Sincerely,

Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D.

President

The University’s ASPIRE program is addressing the nursing shortage head-on. Through a partnership with the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Howley Foundation, this enrichment program provides students accessible pathways to an undergraduate nursing degree beginning in high school.
