In the context of the Jubilee of Sport for the Year 2025, the Dicastery for Culture and Education (Vatican) is promoting an international photography contest, under the title: ‘Sport in Motion.’ The contest is aimed at young photographers, professional or amateur, under the age of 25. The deadline is April 30, 2025, with results announced at the Jubilee of Sport from June 14-15, 2025. Winners will be awarded a meeting with the Holy Father, and more. Enter or learn more.

Lessons and Carols

The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a service of Scripture and song that dates to the late 19th century. In this service, we listen to Scripture lessons which recount the Fall, the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission to preach the Good News. Each lesson is followed by a carol or other song that reflects on the lesson's message and a brief prayer.

Last Sunday Mass of the Semester

This mass ends with the singing of Silent Night in candle light and Hark the Herald Angels Sing.


Monday, Dec. 9
Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception

The celebration of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception has been transferred from Sunday, Dec. 8 to Monday, Dec. 9. While the celebration has been transferred, and it is still a Holy Day, the obligation to attend mass has been lifted for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia by Archbishop Perez.


Advent Reflections
During the Advent season, which starts Sunday, December 1, Brothers Robert Kinzler and Leonard Marsh will provide brief reflections on pieces of art from the La Salle University Art Museum. These will consist of a visual interpretation as well as a spiritual reflection based on the piece itself. It is our hope that after reading these and viewing the actual piece of art in the museum you will deepen your own Advent journey. Read Week One's Reflection

Commuter Christmas pop-up shop

Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 12:30-3 p.m.
Commuter students are invited to stop at the Commuter Lounge in the Union first level commuter lounge for some holiday cheer. Commuter Coaches will be wishing all a happy holidays and giving away free Christmas mugs, blankets, and winter hats, among other goodies.

Fourth Annual Life Science Symposium 

Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 5-8 p.m.

The Life Science Symposium in the Dunleavy room of the Union will feature research poster presentations from about 60 students in the life sciences. A panel discussion at 6 p.m. includes alumni in the field who will discuss their work, career trajectories, and how a La Salle education helped propel them into the life sciences.
