This Week at La Salle

Dear Explorers and friends,

We have a lot to be thankful for in November.

In just a few days, La Salle will begin a new era of Explorer basketball with the home opener for the men's team in the newly renovated John Glaser Arena at TruMark Financial Center on Nov. 4. I had the opportunity to attend the Hoops Fest for students recently and was impressed by the transformation of the arena that features an enhanced scoreboard and sound experience, 360-degree bowl seating, and a true basketball atmosphere that will give our Explorers a homecourt advantage.

The excitement of the home opener kicks off a week of celebration as we look forward to welcoming our alumni back to campus for Homecoming Weekend from Nov. 8-10. There will be something for everyone that weekend from the Young Alumni Happy Hour to the Alumni Association Awards and Class of 1974 50th Reunion to Breakfast with the Brothers to Homecoming Tents on the Quad with great food trucks, drinks, and games for all. And another chance to check out the new arena with the women's and men's doubleheader.

And while the energy around athletics and homecoming is refreshing, we remain focused on the rigorous instruction and opportunities a La Salle education affords our students. One of the most recent examples is the 94.2% first-time pass rate by our nursing students on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) which exceeded state and national averages. It's no wonder they have a 100% employment rate after graduation.

Let us continue to count our blessings and know that I look forward to seeing you soon on campus.

Sincerely,

Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D.
President
La Salle University
