Black History Month

La Salle celerates Black History Month, a time to honor the contributions, achievements, and legacy of African Americans that are an enduring part of U.S. history, with numerous events. Read more here.

It was a banner night for La Salle athletics on Feb. 1, as the Alumni Association and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics inducted new members into the Hall of Athletes Class of 2025. Read more here

Michael Little

Michael Little, ’26, knew what he wanted from his college experience. As a product of Catholic education, Little wanted to match the values he’d grown up cherishing: his faith, a sense of community, and a commitment to others. What he got was that, and so much more. Read more here.

The Honorary Degree Committee is turning its attention to identifying potential honorees for 2025 and beyond. The La Salle community is invited to submit recommendations for possible future honorary doctorate candidates. Find the submission form here.

Feast day of Saint Miguel Febres Cordero, FSC  

The Lasallian family celebrates the feast day of San Miguel Febres Cordero on Feb. 9.  Brother Miguel was born in Ecuador on Nov. 7, 1854, and joined the Brothers of the Christian Schools on March 24, 1868. He was a gifted teacher, author, and diligent student. In time, his research and publications in the field of literature and linguistics put him in touch with scholars all over the world, and he was granted membership in the National Academies of Ecuador, France, and Spain. Prepare for the career fair  

Feb. 3 from 3:30–5:30 p.m.   

Prepare to meet the 90-plus employers who will attend the career fair. Remember to register for the fair and then join us in the Union Lobby on Feb. 3, so you can be well prepared for the event on Feb 6.

The John Henry Newman Lecture Series presents Distinguished Professor of Jurisprudence Burton Craige, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, who will speak in the Holroyd Atrium. Read more here.

Feb. 4 from 5–7 p.m.   

Get answers to questions about sex and healthy relationships from Mark Levand, sexuality educator and researcher. Pizza will be provided at this event in Founders’ Auditorium.

Christian Brothers book launch and lunch

Friday, Feb. 7 at 12:30 p.m.

The Business of Sports Club will host four Philadelphia 76er staff members for a panel discussion in Founders’ Hall room 137. The four speakers are Megan Bozarth (HR), Caitlin Drumm, ‘21, M.A. ‘22, (game presentation), Ali Waddington (communications), and Emilee Desmond (member services coordinator). A question-and-answer segment will follow.

Mobile mammograms available on campus   

Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 9 a.m.–3 p.m.  

Jefferson Health System’s mobile mammogram unit is coming to the Quad to help you get that all-important preventative screening. It is easy—just sign up for a time slot, obtain a doctor’s prescription, and bring that prescription to your appointment. Please sign up for a times slot here. All results are sent directly to your provider. You must be at least 40 years old and have not had a mammogram in the last 365 days.  

How I Became an Originalist  

Thursday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.  

The John Henry Newman Lecture Series presents Randy Barnett, the Patrick Hotung professor of constitutional law at Georgetown University Law Center. The lecture will be held in the Holroyd Hall Atrium. Light refreshments will be provided.
