Weekly Peace Prayers

Mondays, 1:30 p.m.

During the International Lasallian Days for Peace (Sept. 21 - Oct. 21), weekly prayers will be held on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. at the peace pole on Hansen Quad after 1 p.m. Mass.

Blessing of the Animals

Thursday, Oct. 3, 12:30 p.m.

The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi is a traditional day for the blessing of animals. Bring your pets to the Quad.

James Staerk, ‘81, Memorial Golf Outing  

Tuesday, Oct. 1, 10 a.m.  

Proceeds from the outing support The La Salle Men’s Basketball program, with a portion going to support the James W. Staerk Memorial Scholarship fund for students with documented disabilities at La Salle.  

LBGTQ and Bystander intervention training  

Friday, Oct. 4, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. 

Have you ever pondered the appropriate response when witnessing instances of anti-Trans sentiment, homophobia, public racism, anti-Black sentiment, antisemitic sentiments, anti-Muslim sentiment, or other forms of oppressive interpersonal behavior? In light of increasing incidents of violence, knowing how to ensure each other's safety has taken on heightened significance. This workshop led by facilitator Justin Brown in Dan Rodden Theatre will introduce the 4D's approach to Bystander Intervention, equipping you with the skills to deescalate and dismantle gender biased and all other forms of aggression and hatred. Open to students, faculty, staff, and Christian Brothers. Light refreshments to follow.

Join Assistant Professor Mark Thomas, Ph.D., and Adjunct Instructor Fred Foley, Jr., Ph.D., in the Holroyd Atrium as they discuss the issues related to the voting process in free election.

Throughout the year, we celebrate the wide array of individuals, groups, and cultures at La Salle by calling to mind various holidays, observances, and commemorative days that provide our campus with an opportunity to learn and to become involved as they desire. Learn more about the recognitions taking place across the globe and throughout the country during the month of October, including: 


  • Rosh Hashanah, Wednesday, Oct. 2 – Friday, Oct. 4: Rosh Hashanah marks the beginning of the Jewish New Year. It is also celebrated as the day when G-d created humanity. Come celebrate the Jewish New Year on Oct. 1 on the Union Patio from 12:30-2:00 p.m. with some sweet treats.

  • Breast Cancer Awareness Month: The month aims to promote screening and prevention of the disease, which affects 2.3 million women worldwide. Known best for its pink theme color, the month features a number of campaigns and programs—conducted by groups ranging from breast cancer advocacy organizations to local community organizations to major retailers. Understanding the goals behind the global campaign and the emotions felt by the many different people living with the disease may help you decide if and how you want to commemorate the month.
