This Week at La Salle

Dear Explorers and friends,

It has been a great start to the 2024-25 school year. I am so proud to welcome the largest class of first-year and transfer students to 20th and Olney in the past four years.

You may ask why did we see a 23% year-over-year increase in new students? Or a 10% increase in international students? Or a 100% increase in transfer students?

Quite simply, it's because students and their families recognize that the personalized attention and quality, liberal arts education they receive at La Salle puts them on a path to a rewarding future.

Those outcomes are on display in recent rankings by leading publications such as U.S. News and World Report, Money, Forbes, Washington Monthly, Niche, and Payscale. They all rank La Salle as one of the best national universities for social mobility, graduate earning potential, and return on investment.

This influx of students has energized the campus. And I hope to see that enthusiasm on full display Nov. 4 when we will play the first game in the renovated John Glaser Arena at TruMark Financial Center.

The campus community had a sneak peek of the renovations and an opportunity to celebrate the revitalization of the University's "front porch" on September 25. The dedication of Tom Gola Plaza and Tom Gola Way that day was in recognition Tom Gola, '55, one of the greatest basketball players in Philadelphia and NCAA history.

If I don't see you at our first game, then I look forward to seeing many of you at homecoming weekend from November 8-9.

Sincerely,

Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D.
President
