This Week at La Salle

Dear Explorers and friends,

The competitive landscape of American higher education requires constant innovation. At La Salle, we are always seeking opportunities to enhance our existing programmatic offerings or create new ones.

That’s how we established a dual-enrollment initiative aimed at increasing the college enrollment rate of Philadelphia’s high school students—a program that just received a sizable philanthropic contribution from Philadelphia’s Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools.

We also have created an academic partnership with the National Constitution Center to improve access to our graduate education program, and established an articulation agreement with a college in Manhattan for entry into our nationally ranked nursing program.

Whether with partners right here in Philadelphia or those around the world, we have the courage to innovate and be bold.

Sincerely,

Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D.

President
La Salle University

Our innovative dual-enrollment program, LEAP, has helped Philadelphia high school students earn credits at La Salle for the last year. LEAP has received a significant financial commitment from Philadelphia’s Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools—totaling $250,000.

La Salle proudly welcomed Patrick T. Harker, Ph.D., President and CEO of Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, to share his expertise at our 22nd annual Economic Outlook. Dr. Harker’s remarks received coverage from the Wall Street Journal.

The partnership with the National Constitution Center creates another pathway for entry into La Salle’s graduate programs in Education. (These students typically lead the University’s STEM Summer Enrichment camp, held on La Salle’s campus across three weeks in July.)

The National Constitution Center is a new program partner of La Salle, inviting teachers from across the U.S. to attend NCC’s summer institute on civil discourse and receive credits toward a La Salle master’s degree in education. Learn more about this innovative agreement

La Salle has entered an articulation agreement with the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), adding the institution to an expansive list of academic partners who invite their graduates to continue their education at La Salle. This agreement allows BMCC students entry into our nationally ranked nursing program
