Connelly Library’s “treasures” Mission and Heritage Month extends to La Salle’s Connelly Library, where you can experience rare prayer books and bibles that date to the 15th century. Learn more about the library’s Susan Dunleavy Collection of Biblical Literature. Prayers for peace In a campus message last week, Interim President Tim O’Shaughnessy, ’85, called the University community to prayer in solidarity with Ukraine and others around the world who pursue peace. Featured events Busy-person's retreat Today, 1:30 p.m. This weekly exercise in peacefulness is held throughout Lent in the De La Salle Chapel. Women’s basketball at A-10 Championship Today, 1:30 p.m. The Explorers begin their quest for the conference crown with a second-round game on ESPN+. Stations of the Cross Friday, 1 p.m. This Lenten devotion takes place weekly in the De La Salle Chapel. Ani-March Friday, 8 p.m. Head to Rodden Theater for an anime event with films, shows, raffles, and snacks. Women’s lacrosse vs. Manhattan College Saturday, 1 p.m. Head to McCarthy Stadium for the Explorers’ meeting with the Jaspers. Mashed potato bar Saturday, 8 p.m. Stop by The Point for late-night loaded mashed potatoes, sponsored by Late Night La Salle. Mass Sunday, 5 p.m. Celebrate the first Sunday of Lent with Mass at the De La Salle Chapel, also available via live stream. Mindfulness sitting session Monday, March 7, 12 noon Practice mindfulness throughout Lent, including this weekly session in the Interfaith Prayer Room in College Hall. Men’s basketball at A-10 Championship Wednesday, March 9, TBD The Explorers open the first round of the conference tournament on ESPN+. Exploring the Portal Course registration for Summer and Fall 2022 begins today for select upper-level students and continues through March. The myLaSalle Portal offers much more than course-selection resources. A weekend of champions A half-dozen Explorers earned Atlantic 10 Conference championships at the A -10’s Indoor Track Championship last weekend. Liz Mancini, ‘22; Christine Mancini, '23; and El Mancini, ‘22, claimed titles on the women's side, and Dennis Manyeah, '22; Liam Rivard, '23; and Luke Jaciw-Zurakowsky, '22, led the way for the men's team. More to explore Save the date La Salle’s Women in Leadership award ceremony and luncheon is back, with honoree Rosalind Wilson Sutch, ’02, and keynote speaker Lorraine Niba, ’07, Ph.D., MBA. The Basket La Salle’s campus food pantry is open today from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Student wellness survey The National College Health Assessment has launched a survey for La Salle undergraduate students. Check your email, beginning Feb. 23, for a link to complete the survey, which tracks health attitudes, behaviors, and needs. It takes roughly 20 minutes and, upon completing the survey, students are eligible for Amazon gift cards of varied denominations.
