Dear Explorers and friends,
On May 10th, La Salle University proudly celebrated the graduation of its 162nd class. Like all commencement ceremonies, the day was filled with pride, joy, and reflection. I was especially humbled and inspired by our two remarkable student speakers, who reminded us of the transformative power of a college degree—particularly for those who are the first in their families to achieve it. They also reminded us that we become known for more when we help others simply to be known. It was a beautiful and powerful display of our Lasallian values.
The graduation was also an opportunity to emphasize to our graduates and their guests that while all institutions of higher education share a common purpose, they are not all the same. La Salle stands apart—shaped by our Lasallian Catholic mission and our deep commitment to student success. At 20th and Olney, we place students at the center of everything we do. Our focus on accessibility and strong post-graduate outcomes aligns closely with what the public increasingly expects—and deserves—from higher education.
As part of our ongoing commitment to meeting students where they are on their educational journey, I’m proud to share that La Salle has launched the Miguel Campos School, named in honor of Brother Miguel Campos, FSC—a renowned Lasallian scholar and educator. The Campos School expands our associate degree offerings and provides seamless pathways to four-year degrees. This new initiative reflects our mission to serve a diverse community of learners and to support their success in meaningful, measurable ways.
Through the Campos School and beyond, we are reaffirming our promise: to expand access to quality education and to ensure that students from all backgrounds have the support and resources they need to reach their academic and professional goals.
La Salle’s mission is alive and evolving—and we remain, always, proud of who we are.
Sincerely,
Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D.
