Dear Explorers and Friends,
The start of a new academic year always brings energy and promise—but this fall feels different. I feel the momentum change.
We recently welcomed our largest entering class since before the pandemic: 700 new first-time, full-time students, a 40% increase over last year. They are joined by 150 transfer students and about 25 international students from across the globe. In total, nearly 900 new Explorers are beginning their journeys with us—300 more than last fall. This surge is a powerful sign that students and families see La Salle as a place where futures are built.
Our progress reflects a simple but bold truth: I sense that La Salle is a hot school right now.
Families tell us they’re drawn to our hyper-focus on student success—on outcomes, careers, and the transformational support that defines the Explorer experience. That focus has fueled growth across the University. This past year we launched the Miguel Campos School to expand access through associate degree programs. We added in-demand academic pathways in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, sport management, and aviation. Four new Division I athletic teams are competing this year, building on the spirit sparked by new cheer, dance, and band programs. And we reopened two residence halls—welcoming hundreds more students into a vibrant campus community that is alive with energy and optimism.
We are not just growing in size. We are becoming more selective, lowering our discount rate, and strengthening our financial outlook. These changes, alongside our commitment to the student experience, are helping to ensure a booming and sustainable future for La Salle.
At the heart of this success is what has always made La Salle special: our community. Students who arrive ready to explore. Faculty who share their expertise. Alumni and friends who invest in the next generation. With gratitude for all you do, I look forward to the year ahead—and to the journey we are taking together as La Salle reclaims its momentum and its future.
Sincerely,
Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D.
